Three dry gins have been named as finalists for the Kent Spirit of the Year from the Taste of Kent Awards.
Anno Kent Dry Gin by Anno Distillers, Dockyard Gin by Copper Rivet Distillery and George Bishop London Dry Gin by Maidstone Distillery were announced today as the three finalists in the spirit category. Maidstone Distillery's George Bishop featured in Kent Gin Co.'s first virtual gin tasting event in February, while Copper Rivet's Dockyard Gin will be part of our March tasting this week. Anno's Kent Dry Gin will be one of the gins included in our April tasting and tickets for this virtual event are still available here.
The Kent Spirit of the Year category, sponsored by NFU Mutual Ashford, Tenterden and Whitfield, is a new addition to the awards this year.
The top three gins were shortlisted after a round of public voting, and the winner will be announced by the Taste of Kent in a couple of weeks.
The Kent Beer of the Year finalists comprise Session Pale Ale by Cellar Head Brewing Co, Amber Ale by Romney Marsh Brewery and Hurricane by Wantsum Brewery.
Meanwhile, Bacchus by Chapel Down, Herbert Hall Brut Sparkling Wine by Hush Heath Winery and The Mount Vineyard Sparkling Rose 2015 by The Mount Vineyard made the top three in the Kent Wine of the Year category.
Other categories include Kent Cider or Perry of the Year, Kent Sustainability Award and Kent Community Award Heroes.
